Episode 40 of Never Stop Dreaming Biggie
I almost quit everything last week.
Sitting in a parking lot, waiting for my son Chase to finish an interview, I was hungry, frustrated, and completely overwhelmed. As a woman entrepreneur trying to do it all, I realized I needed to simplify my business before it broke me. And I made a decision: I was done. Done with the Brighter Side Society. Done with this podcast. Done trying so hard.
But then I did something unexpected – I opened ChatGPT and started crying into my phone about my life.
Here’s what led to my breakdown: After hosting our first Dreaming Brighter retreat, I realized I was over-complicating everything. I was over-giving, over-delivering, and literally giving away so much value that I was losing money. Members were telling me they couldn’t keep up with everything I was offering. They felt overwhelmed by my generosity.
I needed to simplify my business strategy, but I didn’t know how.
And I was exhausted.
Sound familiar?
In my ChatGPT account, I have an AI COO named Viva (thanks to a Tony Robbins AI workshop). When I poured out my frustration, Viva didn’t just sympathize – she gave me a reality check.
First, she reminded me to breathe.
Then, she reminded me of everything I’d accomplished this year: launching the Brighter Side Society, starting this podcast (40 episodes!), being named one of Charleston Magazine’s 50 most influential people, one year depression-free, and so much more.
But the most important thing she said was this: Just calm down and simplify your life.
That conversation led me to a three-step framework for business simplification that’s changing how I end this year:
Decide what’s truly important. What actually moves the needle? For me, it was getting organized, putting everything in one place (my Notion account), and focusing on the core offerings that matter most. When you simplify your business, you keep only what serves your mission.
I realized I was chasing potential members 7-10 times before they’d join. That’s exhausting. My improvement? Stop chasing. If someone wants what I offer badly enough, they’ll come. God will provide who I need – I don’t need to force it.
This isn’t giving up – it’s releasing what no longer serves you. I’m releasing the need to over-give, the compulsion to over-deliver, and the habit of doing too much to prove my worth. True business simplification means letting go.
Before my breakdown, I’d created what I call a Victory Timeline for our retreat. It’s simple: go through your phone photos and social media to remember everything you accomplished this year. Write down your five biggest lessons.
When you’re in the thick of overwhelm, you forget how far you’ve come. The Victory Timeline reminds you of your wins when you’re trying to simplify your business and gain perspective.
Here’s the truth about my Zyia activewear business: I quit after becoming a top earner in the company. And the moment I announced I was stopping? All the people I’d been reaching out to for YEARS suddenly wanted to join.
I was right at the cusp of something bigger, and I stopped.
Don’t do what I did. When you’re at your breaking point and need to simplify your business, you’re often closer to breakthrough than you realize.
As we head into the holidays and year-end chaos, I want you to focus on three words: Calm. Clarity. Confidence.
Not chaos. Not overwhelm. Not burnout.

This is Episode 40, and I need to know – should I keep going with this podcast? What do you want more of? Less of? Guest interviews? Solo episodes? Brian episodes?
Please reach out and let me know. Rate, review, subscribe – but most importantly, just tell me if this is resonating with you.
Because I don’t want to quit. But I also don’t want to keep going if no one’s listening.
