Hi, I’m Angel Holmes—founder of The Brighter Side Society, where ambitious women find accountability, community, and systems that make success simple.
✨Stop doing business alone.

Do you struggle with overcoming imposter syndrome as an entrepreneur? You’re not alone. Imposter syndrome affects even the most successful business owners, making them question their abilities and play small when they’re meant for bigger things.
In Episode 46 of Never Stop Dreaming Biggie, “Overcoming Imposter Syndrome: From Fear to Fearless in Business,” I share my personal journey of rebuilding confidence after bankruptcy and the practical strategies that transformed my mindset from fear to fearless.

After 30+ years in business, I’ve learned that confidence is the #1 differentiating factor between entrepreneurs who succeed and those who give up. It’s not about being the smartest or most experienced—it’s about believing in yourself enough to keep moving forward, even when things get hard.
True confidence isn’t flashy or loud. It’s quiet strength. It’s waking up every day knowing you were created for a purpose and owning your unique gifts without apology.

During a dream interpretation session with Luvie Smith, I heard something that initially made me uncomfortable: “I see you as a queen.” My first thought? “Queen? I don’t know about that…”
But then I realized—why NOT a queen? God created me with leadership abilities, a gift for bringing people together, and a calling to inspire change. Embracing that identity wasn’t arrogant; it was accepting who I was created to be.
Now I look at my vision board every single day and see that word: QUEEN. And I’m wearing it proudly (literally—check out the episode to see my queen shirt!).

Here are the daily habits that help me overcome imposter syndrome and build unshakeable confidence:
1. The High-Five Habit (Mel Robbins)
Every morning, high-five yourself in the mirror. Give yourself affirmations. Build yourself up before you walk out the door. You have to be your own biggest cheerleader. Mel Robbins’ research shows this simple act rewires your brain for confidence.
2. Word of the Year
My word for 2026 is FEARLESS. When you choose a word and focus on it daily, it rewires your brain and attracts opportunities that align with that energy. Past words: Believe (2023), Freedom (2024). Learn more about choosing your word of the year.
3. Faith Over Fear
Fear is NOT from God. When you feel scared, worried, or ill-equipped, that’s the enemy attacking you. Combat it with prayer, journaling, and time in God’s presence. Read “Do It Afraid” by Joyce Meyer—it’s a game-changer for overcoming imposter syndrome through faith.
4. Surround Yourself with Confident People
You become who you surround yourself with. Find people who believe in you, lift you up even when you’re not around, and want to see you succeed. This is why community matters so much in The Brighter Side Society.

This phrase eliminates imposter syndrome permanently. If you feel called to do something—if it’s burning inside you—it wasn’t put there by accident. You WILL be given all the tools you need. You just have to believe and take action.
This is one of the most powerful mindsets for overcoming imposter syndrome as a female entrepreneur. Stop questioning whether you’re “qualified enough” and start trusting that your calling is your qualification.
Honestly? At the end of 2025, I almost quit this podcast and The Brighter Side Society. I was overwhelmed, not making money, and frustrated. But I didn’t give up because of my faith, my family, my accountability partners, and the members who kept telling me how much it mattered.
And you know what happened when I simplified everything and got more confident? My biggest membership month EVER. People joined right up until the last minute. Applications are already coming in for the next round.
The number one reason you fail is you give up. Don’t give up when you’re so close to your breakthrough.

Building confidence and overcoming imposter syndrome isn’t a one-time event—it’s a daily practice. Start with one thing:
