For my next get to know me better post, I will share more about my teenage years. They were rough. For the first time, I was able to start making real good friends. I was bad at it–not sure what to say or do. I had super short hair and thought I looked more like a boy than a girl. Being raised by my dad, I really did not know how to put on make-up or what to wear to look cute. I fumbled a lot, was very impressionable, and scared if I would fit in with anyone. Then, it was like a Forest Gump moment, I was riding the bus home from school, and a sweet amazing person introduced herself. Maggie was so kind, she welcomed me into her life, and we had a blast–never really leaving each other’s side. I also reconnected with some other friends I had known from living here all of my life and started to make some great friends–friends I still have to this day. I went through a lot of ups and downs navigating what it meant to be a friend to someone but realized that being a good friend is one of the greatest roles you will ever have in life. I wasn’t perfect then, and still learning now, but I value my friendships–old or new–and try to be a good and loving one to those in my life. To all of my friends out there who have been with me throughout the years, especially Ashley (my very first friend ever), Ansley, Maggie, and Julie, I love you, cherish you, and appreciate you more than you will ever know. ❤️
