Devotional of the Week: Hearing from Heaven

There are 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 31,205 verses and over 2,500 promises in the Bible. This is how much God wants to talk to you!

This was a hard concept for me to grasp but I knew that I had heard from Him. Sometimes it would be after I was praying. Or when I was crying, I would hear a voice comforting me. Or when I was praying and crying. I just felt Him, almost like someone was hugging me. I heard a voice say “it would be ok”. And this is when I was a child.

As I grew older, my faith ebbed and flowed, but I knew every time I was close to Him and strong in my faith, I heard Him more often and even though my prayers were not all answered the way I wanted them to be, they were answered. Or I was encouraged not to give up.

I know it is hard to imagine, especially since we do not “see” a person, but God and Jesus are real. And the closer you get to them by praying, reading all of the amazing promises and stories in the Bible, etc., the more you “hear” Him. So if you need more of that in your life, I would give it a try. Even for 30 days. Start with this week’s Devotional of the Week–Hearing from Heaven. It might be the “sign” or voice telling you that He loves you and is here to get you through the thing you are going through right now.
