“It was all a dream…” but what if your dreams are actually blueprints waiting to be built?
In this week’s episode of Never Stop Dreaming BIGGIE, I’m diving deep into the controversial topic of manifestation and how it connects with faith. I’m sharing my personal visualization journey with The Holmestead Bar & Retreat, the incredible Brandon Lake manifestation story, and featuring Taylor Kornegay’s transformational breathwork session.
Here’s the uncomfortable truth about your brain: it’s designed to keep you safe, not successful. Your mind’s number one job is protection, which means it’s constantly whispering things like “you’re too old,” “that’s too risky,” or “who do you think you are?”
I’ve battled this at 50+ years old. The voice that says I’m past my prime, that my biggest dreams should have happened decades ago. But manifestation isn’t some mystical practice – it’s literally about taking control of your thoughts before they take control of you.
Think about it this way: 95% of your thoughts happen unconsciously. If you’re not deliberately choosing what occupies your mental space, your brain defaults to fear-based thinking that keeps you stuck playing small.
For the past ten years, I’ve had visions of The Holmestead Bar & Retreat getting clearer and clearer. What started as a fuzzy idea has crystallized into something so vivid I can tell you the exact color of the front door where Brian and I will live in the Caribbean.
I can see the bungalows, the bar layout, the staff around me, hear the music playing, smell the ocean air. This isn’t wishful thinking – it’s detailed, consistent visualization that happens because I absolutely believe it and I’m working toward it every single day.
My process involves deep breathwork where I connect with my faith first. I visualize walking up stairs to meet Jesus, who takes my hand and brings me down into this Caribbean paradise. For me, manifestation and faith are inseparable because when I connect with what God wants for me, the vision becomes crystal clear.
Here’s my practical approach to manifestation that combines faith, action, and mental training:
B – Breathe Deeply Start every visualization session with intentional breathwork. This isn’t just relaxation – it’s about getting into a state where your mind is receptive to new possibilities instead of default fear patterns.
E – Engage All Senses Don’t just see your dreams – smell them, hear them, feel them. The more sensory details you can include, the more real it becomes to your subconscious mind.
L – Lose the Expectations This is crucial: you must release attachment to exactly how your manifestation will unfold. My Brandon Lake story proves this perfectly – I wanted a picture with him, and I got it, just not in the way I expected.
I – Implement Daily Practice Manifestation isn’t a one-time event. It’s daily mental training, just like physical fitness. I use Rebekah Hogan’s manifestation journal every single day.
E – Embrace Protection in Rejection When doors close, it’s not failure – it’s protection. As Jamie Kern Lima teaches in “Worthy,” closed doors redirect us toward something better we couldn’t have imagined.
V – Visualize with Faith Connect your manifestation practice to something bigger than yourself, whether that’s God, the universe, or your deeper purpose.
E – Execute Consistent Action Manifestation without action is just daydreaming. I’m not just visualizing The Holmestead – I’m researching locations, building business plans, and taking concrete steps.
Ready to start your own manifestation practice? Here’s exactly how to begin:
First, identify one specific dream you want to manifest. Make it detailed enough that you can visualize sensory experiences around it.
Second, create a daily practice. Even five minutes of intentional visualization combined with breathwork can rewire your mental patterns.
Third, get the tools that support this work. I recommend Rebekah Hogan’s manifestation journal and Jamie Kern Lima’s book “Worthy” as starting points.
Fourth, release the timeline and specific method. Trust that if you’re consistently doing the inner work and taking aligned action, the manifestation will unfold in the right way and timing.
This week’s episode features Taylor Kornegay, whose story perfectly illustrates how our deepest challenges can become our greatest gifts. After a traumatic brain injury during college, Taylor faced depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. When traditional medicine failed, she turned to holistic healing.
Today, Taylor helps others through breathwork, meditation, and movement – the very tools that saved her life. Her dreams now include launching “The Heart Space” podcast and creating a breathwork app to elevate energy around the planet.
Taylor’s breathwork session in this episode demonstrates how powerful intentional breathing can be for manifestation. It’s not just about relaxation – it’s about accessing deeper states of consciousness where transformation becomes possible.
Let’s address why most people struggle with manifestation: they either treat it like magic (expecting results without action) or they give up when things don’t happen exactly as imagined.
Manifestation requires three things most people aren’t willing to commit to: consistent mental discipline, persistent aligned action, and faith through uncertainty. It’s not about positive thinking your way to success – it’s about fundamentally rewiring how your brain processes possibility.
The biggest obstacle is usually our own negative self-talk. You have to actively replace limiting beliefs with empowering ones, and this takes daily practice, not just occasional affirmations.
Your Challenge This Week
Choose one dream you want to manifest. Spend 10 minutes daily visualizing it with all your senses engaged. Write down three specific actions you can take this week to move toward that dream. Share your manifestation goal in our community – speaking dreams out loud gives them life.
Connect with others who are on this journey. Join conversations in The Brighter Side Society or Like Minded Charleston where we support each other’s manifestation practices with practical accountability.
Manifestation isn’t about getting everything you want – it’s about becoming the person who can receive and steward the dreams God has placed in your heart. It’s about training your mind to see possibilities instead of problems, solutions instead of obstacles.
At The Brighter Side Society, I’m watching women transform their businesses and lives through these principles. When you combine faith, visualization, and consistent action, you don’t just achieve your dreams – you exceed them in ways you never imagined.
The truth is, your dreams aren’t getting smaller, so why should your belief in them? It’s time to train your mind for the BIGGIE life you’re meant to live.
Your dreams were never just dreams – they were blueprints. Now let’s build them.
